About the Brand

Rimon (ree-MOHN) creates unique, empowering activist apparel for Jews and our allies to stand in solidarity with Israel and against antisemitism. Activists of every stripe can express themselves authentically – from bold statements to more subtle signals, printed large across their chest or around a mug on their office desk. What all of our designs have in common is a commitment to cross-cultural unity, support for Israel, and the shared heart of Jewish culture.

From the founder:

Rimon began when I doodled a heart around the silhouette of Israel in 2023, but the story really starts with my grandparents, who emerged from Auschwitz with incredible stories of survival:

Halina was an orphaned teen when she was deported to the death camp from the Łódź Ghetto, where her parents had died of starvation. After making "selections," Josef Mengele (the notorious Nazi “Angel of Death”) noticed her and pulled her out of line just before she would have followed her little brother into the gas chamber.

Benjamin raised his hand when a camp guard called out asking for a barber. He had no such experience, but he faked it well enough to hold on to the job, which came with extra food scraps that sustained him until liberation.

Halina and Ben lost nearly everything to antisemitism. I am only here because of their instinct, initiative, and grit; now I'm driven by a sense of duty, both to their tenacious legacy and to my own little Benjamin's irrepressible Jewish pride. (Yes, I named my son after his Great-Grampa.)

Every Jew living today – Ashkenazi, Sephardi, Ethiopian, Mizrahi – is a product of survival. And Israel belongs to all of us. I created Rimon to amplify our voices now that we find ourselves, once again, needing to stand up for ourselves, for each other, and for our homeland.

Activism looks different on everyone – so wear a hat. Gift a mug. Use your voice. Take a stand. It all sends a message, and it all makes a difference.

With love and solidarity,

– Danielle

Here are Ben and his Bubbie comforting each other on the day of my own mother's funeral, in February 2022. Halina lived to age 96, passing just 10 months before the October 7th massacre. I tell myself that she (and my mother) were there on the other side, waiting to embrace every soul that passed that day.

The "Why" Behind the Brand

Rimon's founder believes that visibility and solidarity are our best defenses against the intensifying hate aimed at Israel and Jews.

The seed was planted in the months following October 7th, 2023, as antisemitic rage erupted... and was met with conspicuous silence. Many Jews sank into the realization that, while rioters celebrated anti-Jewish terrorism and major news outlets misreported on the Israel-Hamas war, their friends either weren't speaking up for them, or had outright turned against them.

And while some of those Jews started pulling mezuzot off their doors and leaving their Jewish jewelry at home, Rimon took root in the certainty that hiding our Jewish identity and support for Israel is NOT the answer to this antisemitic crisis.

Who created the company?

Rimon founder Danielle Cantor is a writer, graphic designer, and veteran of the Jewish nonprofit world. She first worked as an advertising creative before bringing her talents in-house to a historic Jewish women's organization, where she elevated the brand to international recognition. In early 2024 Danielle founded Rimon to feed her creative appetite, honor her family's Holocaust survival story, and keep working to make a difference. A native Washingtonian, she still lives in D.C. with her husband and their very-proudly-Jewish young son.

Giving Back

While Rimon is a for-profit business, a portion of net profits is donated to aid Israel, and charitable collaborations are integral to our business model. If you are interested in fundraising with us, please reach out!

What's up with the pomegranates?

Rimon (רִמוֹן) is the Hebrew word for pomegranate. In Jewish culture, these juicy jeweled fruits symbolize righteousness, wisdom, abundance, and sanctity. They're even listed in the Bible as one of the seven species of fruits and grains unique to the land of Israel. Yes, we could have given this company a more on-the-nose brand, but we wanted to look beyond the war in Israel (which will hopefully end soon) and instead honor and celebrate Jewish and Israeli culture.
